The Melee Mage

Gu Fei can fold a grown man in half with his bare hands, and every afternoon he blows a whistle at kids who can't do ten pushups. Then his students talk him into trying their favorite online game. One wrong click at character creation and the game hands him a mage. Robes, spells, the whole fragile package. Here is the problem. Gu Fei has no idea how mages are supposed to fight. So he walks up and punches people. Swordsmen, archers, guild enforcers twice his level: none of them expect the skinny guy in a robe to close the distance and start swinging. His fists do the casting now. Word spreads, bounty hunters line up, and the game's rules start to look less like rules and more like suggestions he keeps ignoring. Can a teacher who grades on effort teach an entire server that the class list was never the point?
