Fuu Sawatari moves to Takehara, the seaside town her father grew up in, one month ago. She brings his old camera with her. Every street corner here holds a memory of him, and that is exactly the problem, because he died not long ago. She could have stayed away. Instead she chose to live where the loss is sharpest. Then the town starts working on her. There is Kaoru, who follows her nose toward anything that smells good. Maon barely speaks but says plenty with a piano. Norie laughs at everything, loudly, usually at the wrong moment. With them, Fuu begins hunting for small things worth keeping: light on the water, a face mid-laugh, the last warm afternoon of a season. She clicks the shutter and keeps moving, and the grief does not vanish so much as make room for something else. Her friends are also drifting toward questions of their own, about what they want and where they are headed after school ends. Fuu helps where she can. But can a girl still chasing her father's shadow through a viewfinder really show anyone else the way forward?
