Aoi grew up on Earth like any other kid, doing normal kid things, until the day everything tilted sideways. Turns out his mother is Mito: a queen who traded her crown for a life of space piracy, and Aoi is the heir. Their species picks its sex at puberty, which explains why Aoi walked away from saving the universe as a young woman. Also along for that ride was Mutsuki, the cop who used to chase Mito across the stars and who Aoi fell for somewhere in the middle of all the chaos. So the universe got saved. Great. Then someone new shows up calling herself the real Queen of the Universe, and she can blow up planets the way you or I might crush a soda can. Aoi has a throne to defend now, whether she asked for it or not, and she cannot do it alone. Mutsuki has to sort out what she actually feels for Aoi, which is a lot messier than any chase she ever ran. Two queens, one Earth, and a self-appointed empress who wants them gone. Can Mutsuki admit what is in her heart before the woman calling herself the true Queen turns their whole planet to dust?
