Three years after the team split up, Ryo is a NASA engineer with a rocket on his hands and Anise is flipping burgers. Same woman who used to suit up and fight. Then a letter lands on her table: a real job, big money, a high tech project in Japan. She packs her bags. Ryo, still unable to decide anything, stays behind and watches her go. Meanwhile Chuck, the third Borgman, hears something strange from his girlfriend Miki. She swears she saw cyborgs tearing into each other in the street. He tells her flat out that is impossible, because the only cyborgs left alive are Ryo, Anise, and him. She pushes back. He looks into it anyway. And the paper trail points at a place called Heaven's Gate. Anise offers to poke around inside the project herself. Ryo finally gets on a plane to chase after her, with Hussan, one of the last surviving Borgman researchers, sitting next to him on his way to answer questions from the Tokyo police. Everyone lands in the same city, everyone starts pulling on the same thread. So who is building new cyborgs, and what happens when the three of them walk into Heaven's Gate together?
