Lin Chu had money, a name that mattered, and a villa he'd grown up in. Then his parents vanished. No note, no trail. His father's former assistant took the company, and the so-called creditors came for the house. So Lin Chu moved into the family's crumbling old place on the outskirts. That's when he heard the voices. Coming from a bonsai tree in the courtyard, of all things. He touched it, got pulled inside, and found a sacred mountain with an immortal sealed in it: Xuanqing Patriarch, who'd been stuck there a very long time. The old man took one look at Lin Chu and realized the kid could break the seal. His offer was simple. Become his disciple, learn cultivation, and in exchange he'd teach Lin Chu the skills to find out what happened to his parents. Lin Chu said yes. Now he's training under a prisoner inside a potted tree, chasing a truth someone buried deep. But who grabbed his parents, and why would they bother with a kid who has nothing left?
