He dies in the middle of a city, in the dumbest way possible, and wakes up in a goddess's chamber. She offers him a fresh start, a better life in another world. Great news, except the line for heroes and demon lords is booked fifty thousand years out. Everyone died broke and miserable, and now everybody wants the same cushy slot. So he takes whatever is open right now. The rib of a hero who runs a harem. A hermit crab. A vegetable. An explosive charge used to blow up disgustingly happy couples. He keeps coming back as weirder and weirder things, and every time the goal is the same: find one life worth staying in. But how do you build a happy life when you are a door handle, or a piece of someone else's chest? And what happens when he finally lands somewhere he does not want to leave?
