1904, the middle of the Russo-Japanese war, and Japan's tiny army is out of options. So they send up a flying ship called the Amanohara, kept in the air by a demon's good graces, to hit Russia right at its main base in Port Arthur. Shintaro Umakai, a Japanese-born Russian diplomat, walks away from all of it and takes a teaching post in Sapporo. Except the girls' academy he lands at floats. It is the Amanohara. And the five students in his classroom are the Raimu Unit, girls who can call up powerful beings to fight on their side. Soon he is not just their teacher but the general giving orders, and the six of them are off on a strange, wildly erotic ride while he tries to shore up their weak spots before the last stand at Lushun. That is when the other side shows its hand: the Russian Spiritual Corps, backing the enemy, and one of its members is someone Shintaro knew well.
