Sanpeita Kobayashi was just a kid when the girl next door moved away. She made him promise: ten years, then they would meet again and get married. He kept that promise in his head the whole time. Now he is a high school student, still half lost in the memory of her face, and one morning he wakes up from a dream about their last day together. Something smashes through his bedroom wall before he can even sit up. A robot girl is in there, throwing punches at other robots, wrecking his room, and yelling that she is his wife. Then he sees the pilot inside the machine. She looks exactly like the childhood friend he never got over. Except the robot is not a robot, it is a suit, and the girl steering it is named Kemeko. She says she is the one he promised himself to ten years ago. Great news, right? Not even close. This is where his problems really start, because Kemeko fights like a maniac, follows him everywhere, and drags him straight into whatever mess Mishima Electronics is cooking up. He wanted a wife. He got a walking disaster with a cockpit. So who is Kemeko really, and why did she have to disappear back then? What does a weapons company want with a high school kid and the girl he used to know?
