Episode 2 · Honey Lemon Soda

Honey Lemon Soda

Uka Ishimori barely got a word out in middle school. Kids called her Rocky, like she was made of stone, and the name stuck because she froze whenever anyone spoke to her. Now she is a first year in high school, and she wants to be someone else. Anyone else. Then Kai Miura walks into her life. Or rather, he soaks her with lemon soda. He is the exact opposite of her: popular, easygoing, hair the color of the drink he just spilled. She expects a laugh. He gives her small kindnesses instead. Bit by bit, that shy girl starts to crack open, and something fizzy begins to build between them. But can a person really change just because a boy is nice to her? And what happens when these two stop being opposites and start becoming something else?
