Tadashi Iketo just wants to sit through class without anyone bothering him. He can't speak, and his face does him no favors: kids take one look at that heavy brow and wide flat nose and start calling him a gorilla before he even finds his desk. So he keeps getting bounced from school to school, each transfer file stamped with the same lie about his violent nature. The kid wouldn't hurt a fly. He just has the bad luck to look like he might. Then the doors open at the new school, and the rumor arrives faster than he does. Somebody decides to test the new guy on day one, and Tadashi's fists answer for him. Now every punk in the building wants a piece of the ape, teachers are watching him like a bomb, and staying quiet only makes it worse. He never asked for any of this. So how many fights does a gentle kid have to lose before everyone finally stops seeing a monster?
