Shuuichi Kagaya just wants to get through high school unnoticed. Then a warehouse goes up in flames and he runs inside, because the girl trapped there will die otherwise. He does not run in as himself. He turns into a huge dog with a lightning bolt on its back and a revolver stuck in its side, carries her out, and leaves his phone behind in the smoke. That phone is how Claire Aoki finds him the next day. She does not thank him. She corners him, he lies about what he is, so she pushes him off the school roof to prove it. He transforms to survive. She takes a picture, and just like that he belongs to her. Claire wants every detail he has about monsters, which turns out to be almost nothing. What she does have is a sister, and a family that sister killed. The sister is a monster too, and Claire has been hunting her ever since. So the two of them start looking, one blackmail photo at a time. They are not alone in the search, and the people ahead of them are not asking nicely. How far is Claire willing to drag him before she finds the person she used to call family?
