Everyone at Ansarivan Dragonar Academy learns to ride and tame dragons without much trouble. Then there is Ash Blake. First year, walking target, the kid everyone calls problem child number one. He carries a big star shaped brand on his body, the mark of a future dragon master, and it has gotten him nothing but laughs. No dragon has ever shown up for him. Not once. Then one day it finally happens. His dragon wakes up, and she is not what anyone expected. Not a scaly beast, not a roaring monster. A girl. A very beautiful girl. And before Ash can even process that, she looks at him and sets the rules straight: she is the master here. He is the servant. Try arguing with that. So now he has a dragon who talks back, a school that is watching, and a bond that works nothing like the textbooks say it should. Can a guy who could not even get a dragon in the first place figure out how to ride the one he got?
