Episode 1 · Dandelion

Dandelion

Death isn't always the end. Sometimes a soul just gets stuck, hanging around the living with its memories and feelings still burning, slowly losing itself until it turns into something else entirely. That's where the Japanese Angel Federation comes in, a whole organization built to track down spirits that can't move on. Most divisions treat these cases like glitches to be cleared fast. File the paperwork, send the soul off, clock out. Then there's the 21st Division. Tetsuo Tanba, a hotheaded guy with a soft heart, and his captain Misaki Kurogane, who asks too many questions, run the Dandelion Clan. They don't rush. They sit with each spirit, hear out the regrets, and help untangle whatever is keeping the poor soul chained to the world. Their bosses hate it. The rules demand speed and hard protocol, and every slow case they take pushes them further out of line. One day a call comes in about an elderly man's spirit. He's running. Full sprint, dead terrified, desperate to get away from something. Tetsuo and Misaki have handled stubborn souls before, but what exactly is a sweet old man so afraid of?
