Tsutomu can barely string two words together around Sayaka, so Birdy figures she will handle it herself. Slipping into her pin-up alter ego, all long legs and zero patience, she sets up the meeting and waits for the boy to finally say something right. For about five minutes, it looks like it might actually work. Then a Federation marionette crashes the party. A puppet, built for someone else's war, standing right in the middle of a first date. Birdy has to drop the act and fight, Tsutomu has to keep Sayaka from seeing too much, and the quiet evening they planned is gone for good. This one sits between the two seasons, so it is the mess that leads straight into everything after. Can two people who share one body ever get a normal night out, or does the galaxy always come knocking first?
