A young man lies in bed, too weak to stand, and stares at the ceiling. Kakyou Kuzuki can't leave his room. What he can do is dream, and the people he meets there feel more real to him than anything outside his window. Then one of those dreamers turns out to be a woman he will never touch, never speak to in the waking world. He watches her live. He watches her die. Somehow a dying man keeps meeting her, night after night, until the dreams start showing him something worse than his own empty room: a future where the whole planet hangs by a thread. Kakyou knows what's coming. He can't get up to stop it. All he can do is remember her and wait for the end he already saw. So the question isn't whether the Earth survives. It's whether anyone will believe a man who only ever sees the truth with his eyes closed.
