Mayuri walks into the Future Gadget Lab carrying a big pink Oopa toy. Not a gadget. Not a machine. A plush. She says it is a cognitive computing system, and that it will help her and Kurisu cook fried chicken for everyone. Okabe stares. Daru stares. Neither of them signed up for this. Then the cooking starts, and there are no proper ingredients in the kitchen anyway. Somehow the Oopa talks them through it, step by step, and the chicken comes out good. Everyone eats. Nobody explains how a stuffed toy pulled that off. After that, the thing just sticks around. It helps Okabe and Kurisu patch things up after one of their fights. It polls the lab members on what the place needs and hands back suggestions. Small stuff, mostly. Daily stuff. But it keeps working, and Okabe keeps pretending he is not impressed. So the lab has a new member now, one that runs on who knows what and lives inside a pink toy. Is it a real cognitive computer, or is something else going on in that room?
