1996. Haruo, Akira and Koharu are second years in high school now, and the arcade sticks are still in their hands. Five years of rivalries, rematches and shared quarters have quietly turned into something none of them knows how to name. So they do what they always do: keep playing, keep score, keep pretending nothing has changed. Then growing up knocks on the door. There is a real decision waiting for each of them, the kind about what they actually want to do with their lives, and it does not fit neatly next to a tournament schedule. Feelings stay locked behind their teeth while the biggest gamer showdown yet is coming up, and all three are taking it dead seriously. Can they keep gaming like nothing matters, or does the console end up in the back of the closet? And when the dust settles, who wins, and who finally says the thing out loud?
