A century has passed since the Dragon Balls last mattered, and almost everyone who once fought for Earth is gone. Only Pan remains, an old woman now, the granddaughter of Son Goku. She lives quietly with her grandson, a boy named after his legendary ancestor but nothing like him. Goku Jr. flinches at bullies and runs from fights. Then Pan collapses. A heart attack, and the doctors offer no hope. The boy remembers the old stories: the four star ball, the one Grandpa Goku kept as a keepsake, said to grant any wish. So he sets off to find it. The last person he wants beside him is the school bully who has been making his life miserable, and yet there he is, tagging along. Two kids, one legend, no idea what waits ahead. Somewhere on that road, the fear that has ruled Goku Jr. starts to crack, and something else pushes through. Power he never earned, courage he never asked for. But even if he finds the ball, can a wish really undo what time has already taken?
