Five hundred years after Gram cut him down, Veltol Velvet Velsvolt gets dragged back from the dead in a Shinjuku that did not exist when he was alive. The old fantasy world of Alneath has slammed into technological Earth, and what came out the other side is a city of concrete and spellwork built on ruined ground. His vassal Machina is the one who revived him, and he should be grateful, except his magic is a shadow of what it used to be. Then there is Marcus. His former ally, now standing on the other side. Stripped of power and with a traitor to deal with, the Demon Lord takes advice from a hacker named Takahashi and does the least demonic thing imaginable: he starts live streaming. His mouth is sharp, his gaming skills are embarrassing, and somehow that combination pulls in followers by the thousand. But fame is not the same as a throne, and the secrets buried under Shinjuku are not going to hand themselves over. So a fallen king has to grind his way back through a world that buried his kind. Can he rebuild enough power to take down Marcus before Marcus finishes whatever he is planning?
