Vampires are losing what made them vampires. Their old immortality is fading, and the only one who kept it was the first of their kind, a figure named True of Vamp, half myth even to his own descendants. Then bodies start turning up. Different victims, different streets, one detail at every scene: a card with his name on it. The Blood Alliance wants Dali Delico on the case. He's an aristocrat, he's sharp, he's the obvious choice. He says no. He has newborns at home, and that matters more to him than dead strangers. His former colleagues Gerhard, Henrique and Dino show up at his estate to talk him around, and what they find is a house full of cribs. So he offers them a deal: he investigates, but only from home, and all four of them raise their kids together while they work. Now the manor is part nursery, part war room, with noble vampires learning to warm bottles between interrogations. Somewhere outside those walls, an organization Dali knows far too well is waiting. Is he chasing True of Vamp, or walking straight into something older?
