A crime ring has turned Shinjuku into a place where people look over their shoulders. Ichika Hoshino is a young cop walking that beat, and her job is simple: make it stop. Then someone jumps her. She wakes up alive, which is the first surprise. The second is the collar locked around her throat, loaded with poison. Five men she has never met show up, all of them chasing the same truth she is. They want to help. Or they want something else, and helping is just the shape it takes. The city keeps sliding while Ichika tries to figure out who is standing next to her and who put the collar on her in the first place. With the clock running and a poison choker as a leash, how do you decide which stranger to trust when trusting the wrong one ends everything?
