Rein Shroud spent six months cooking, cleaning and scouting for a hero's party, and when they threw him out, nobody bothered to soften it. Who needs a beast tamer who can't fight? Even Rein figured they had a point. So he shrugged it off, walked away from the hero business and signed up as a plain adventurer instead. His own boss, his own road. Then he runs into Kanade. A cat girl. Also, it turns out, one of those ultimate species everyone assumes are nearly extinct, and she wants a contract with him. Just like that, the guy who could only handle chores is bonded to a partner no hero could dream of. Word gets around fast, and so do the other ultimate species, each one stranger and stronger than the last. Arios and his crew still have no idea what they tossed aside. Rein keeps climbing the ranks, picking up companions nobody else could tame, and somewhere down the line the hero's party is going to cross paths with him again. What happens when Arios finally learns exactly what he threw away?
