Everyone in the Yang Mansion treats Yang Chen like the family joke. His cousins get their Dao Souls, the courtyard fills with noise and pride, and he gets nothing. Years of it. His uncle's people whisper loud enough for him to hear, and the whispers are never really about Yang Chen at all. They want Grandpa gone from the Patriarch's seat, and the easiest way to push him out is to prove his grandson is worthless. Then the break happens. Yang Chen tears through whatever wall was holding him back and wakes both his Dao Soul and Qi Ling Huangyu, and the first thing that gift shows him is the room he grew up in: his uncle at the center of it, Grandpa backed into a corner. So he does not stay to gloat or to shout. He leaves for Youyun Mountain by himself to find medicine, because strength is the only argument these people will listen to, and he is done being the reason his grandfather has to bow. A boy alone on a mountain while the knives come out back home. Will he make it down in time, and what exactly is waiting for him up there?
