In the Great Yan Empire, respect is not given. It is taken, and only by those strong enough to hold it. Four clans sit at the top, and the Lin clan has always been first among them. Then a scandal tore the family apart, and one branch was cast out, left to build its own name and wait for the day the main house might take them back. Lin Dong was a boy when that hope died. He stood there and watched Lin Langtian, the clan's shining genius, break his father without even trying. Now his father stares at nothing. His grandfather carries a grief too heavy to speak of. And Lin Dong carries something else: a promise to himself that the man who took everything will answer for it. He has no teacher, no money, no allies. Just a stubborn streak and a refusal to bend. Then, by accident, he finds a strange stone talisman, and something inside it wakes up. What it wants from him, he does not know yet. What if the revenge he has built his whole life around is only the smallest part of what he was born to do?
