Saki Uno is fifteen and stuck in an idol duo nobody comes to see. Magical Twins, that's the name, and her favorite part of every day is standing next to Sakuyo Mikage, her best friend, mostly because it means standing near Sakuyo's brother Mohiro. Then a guy who looks like a yakuza thug plants himself at her front door. He walks in, sits down, and explains that her mother used to fight demons in a skirt, and that he is not a gangster at all but a mascot named Kokoro-chan hunting for a replacement. Saki is not buying any of it. Until he mentions that Mohiro is being stalked by demons with fluffy squirrel tails. She runs. Love Power floods in, she shouts her feelings out loud, and the transformation kicks in. Only her body is all wrong for combat, so the magic fixes that in the worst possible way: Saki comes out of it as a hulking man in a frilly dress. Same girl inside, enormous shoulders outside. Together with Sakuyo, she now has to guard Mohiro from the cute little monsters chewing through her city, one embarrassing fight at a time. How do you confess to the boy you like when the boy you turn into is twice his size?
