Hana Tabata has her routine down. Every morning she slips into the school's flower room before anyone else, waters the plants, and lets herself enjoy cute things for a few quiet minutes. She figures that's as close as she gets. Round face, glasses, freckles, a body she'd rather not think about: in her own mind she's the girl in the background of someone else's story, never the one it happens to. Then Ueno walks in. Yousuke Ueno, who everyone likes, good looking and genuinely kind, the exact opposite of invisible. He catches her mid watering can and just starts talking to her like it's normal. Which it isn't. He keeps coming back, too. Now Hana has a problem she never planned for. She likes him. She's sure he can't possibly like her back, so every friendly word from him turns into something she has to survive. And Ueno isn't going anywhere. So what exactly does he see when he looks at her?
