Lin Yun spent his days lugging other people's swords around the Qingyun Sect. A sword slave. Nothing more. Then he died, and woke up again with the same face and the same miserable talent for understanding anything. Except something had shifted. One set of Tiger Fist, thrown in a courtyard nobody was watching, and he shot straight up to the third stage of martial arts, the level that lets a nobody test into the outer sect. So he traded the slave quarters for a real disciple's robe. That should have been the end of it. It wasn't. The other disciples looked at him the same way they always had, because the sect runs on a rule nobody writes down: once a sword slave, always a sword slave. Now Lin Yun has to claw his way upward in a place where the deck is stacked against him and every friendly face is hiding a knife. Rivals, beatings, closed doors, small chances he has to snatch before they vanish. He keeps pushing, keeps swinging, keeps proving the rule wrong one fight at a time. But the higher he climbs, the more people want him back in the dirt. Can a man who was born to carry swords ever be the one who rules them?
