Purple River
Two hundred years after the last emperor of the Light Empire fell on the Blue River plain, nobody rules the West River lands. Clans fight, war is the only currency, and everyone wants to be the one who puts it all back together. Down in the southeast, the Zichuan family has held the line for two centuries: demons pushing from the east, the Liufeng breathing down their necks from the west, the Lin causing trouble to the south. Then the knife comes from inside. Three brothers, three answers. Di Lin is ice cold and always three steps ahead. Sterling is a soldier who loves his country and his throne, right up until he has to pick between them and the woman he loves. And Zichuan Xiu, the family embarrassment everyone calls a rogue, turns out to be the one who holds the line when the demons come screaming across it, and then goes hunting a traitor with his own life as the wager. Humans, demons, orcs, eastern tribes, all of them shoving each other around one continent. Which brother breaks first?
